Geoff graduated University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2007 and has practiced in the legal profession ever since. He strives to ensure that everyone in our community has access to justice, and has held volunteer roles with various community legal organisations for many years. Currently, Geoff is a member of the Board of Launceston Community Legal Centre and also  provides free legal advice through their Wednesday night clinics.

He aims to help his clients resolve their disputes without having to argue the toss in Court, appreciating how stressful and expensive the Court process can be - not to mention the lengthy delays in getting a matter to Trial (often 12 months or more). Of course, sometimes litigation is necessary and Geoff is an experienced and effective advocate in the Court room, having had personal conduct of many Interim and Final Hearings.

 

He also enjoys his role as an Independent Children's Lawyer, advocating directly for the best interests of children tangled up in the Family Law Courts and having the privilege to meet with children of all ages and from all backgrounds.

 

Geoff has a friendly and approachable manner, and will ensure to explain each step in a clear and concise way, avoiding complicated legal jargon and pesky latin phrases.

 

When Geoff isn't helping achieve great results for his clients, he loves spending time on the waters around Tasmania (and sometimes even catching a fish), watching sports and spending time with his wife and three children.
